small hours

"Our lives are made in these small hours, these little wonders, these twists and turns of fate. Time falls away, but these small hours, these small hours still remain."

It's these small moments that count. The smallest of decisions that lead to the greatest change.

The choice of gratitude over frustration,
The choice to engage rather than withdraw,
Saying yes just that one time, and then one time more,
The decision to pray and fully hear the Lord out,
Turning to a pathway of hope and encouragement when darkness is easier.

It's the split second "i-could-go-either-way," fork-in-the-road choices that make us who we are; the thoughts that we let live and take root in our minds that shape the years ahead of us. Time keeps moving, lives will continue on, but those small moments remain a part of us forever.

I guess it's the smallest parts of our days that deserve our greatest attention.
